Ndiho Impact is a community-driven initiative dedicated to
empowering refugees to move beyond struggle and rebuild their lives with
dignity, purpose, and hope. We believe that every refugee has the potential to
live meaningfully when given the right opportunities, support, and tools to
lead change in their own lives and communities.
Our work is rooted in compassion and lived experience. We understand the emotional, social, and economic challenges that come with displacement because our story began with someone who lived it.
Our Story
Ndiho
Impact was founded by Olivia
Niyodusenga, who grew up as a refugee from childhood into adulthood.
Having lived through the many phases of refugee life, Olivia experienced first-hand
the instability, family hardships, and emotional struggles that come with
constantly seeking safety and belonging.
As a
young woman, she faced countless barriers, including the struggle to pay for
school fees and tuition, the challenges of integrating into new communities,
and the language barriers that often hinder refugees’ ability to participate
fully in economic and social life. Despite these obstacles, she worked
tirelessly to adapt, persevere, and remain hopeful in every new environment.
Her
journey inspired the birth of Ndiho Impact an organisation created to empower
refugees and displaced individuals with skills, confidence, and hope so that
they do not have to endure severe hardship before they can begin to rebuild
their lives. Olivia’s vision is to create spaces of healing, learning, and
empowerment where refugees can grow, find belonging, and contribute
meaningfully to their host communities.
